How To Help

You can join the battle against hunger by donating money, food or time. Here’s how:

Cash Donations

Donate Cash
Cash donations are tax-deductible (to the full extent provide by law) – and provide the Food Bank with the resources to immediately fill crucial shortages. Your cash donations are vital in this time of unprecedented need and allow us to provide critical nutritional items (chicken, fresh produce, etc.) that aren’t traditionally donated in food drives.

There are two ways to donate cash: by accessing our vast purchasing resources via our new Virtual Food Drive or by making a Direct Donation.

Become a Corporate Sponsor
Corporate sponsorships provide a unique opportunity to raise much-needed resources for the Food Bank while offering cause-related marketing exposure to your business. We invite you to become a Corporate Sponsor for the Food Bank’s signature events or food drives.

Food Donations

Donate Food
This year, the Food Bank will distribute more than 15 million pounds of food through 300 community agencies in Alameda County. There are a variety of ways to donate food that will help feed more than 40,000 county residents this week!

Time Donations

Volunteer
Volunteers are the heart of the Alameda County Community Food Bank’s operation. Last year, some 3,100 volunteers donated more than 25,000 hours. Time and time again, volunteers tell us that their Food Bank service left them with a profound sense of accomplishment and community service. Volunteer Now!

Become a Food Bank Advocate
Sign up to receive Food Bank advocate emails. We’ll keep you updated on the issues and policies that affect the Food Bank. Our strongest advocates are people like you that effect action at the grassroots level!
